The Refill by Scan feature allows users to scan the barcode on their prescription vials using their smart phones to directly place a refill request at the store. The process allows a user to quickly and easily place a refill request.
The Refill by Scan feature enables the user to scan the barcode printed on a prescription label or a receipt, using the smart-phone camera, to seamlessly order a refill.
Since mscripts uses the dispensing system’s services to process refill request,s the following data components must be included in the barcode. (Refer the table below for the types of supported barcode.)

If the barcode data scanned doesn’t comply to the data standards as agreed with the pharmacy, the user is informed about this and presented with the option to type the RX and request the refill.
The minimum recommended size for a QR code is .65 x .65 inches for readability and support across most platforms. All label designs should attempt to minimize curvature or labels that may cause the bar code to be attached and cause readability issues.
